More than 30 thousand people from trade unions all over the country gathered this morning in Bucharest, in front of The Governement Building, in Piata Victoriei (Victory Square) to ask for decent salaries and a better life.
In order to receive a new loan from the International Monetary Fund, the Romanian Government is obliged to cut state costs; the only way they considered “appropriate“ to do that, was to propose lower pensions (with 15%) and lower salaries for all those who are paid from the state budget (with 25%).
